Giftmas Village

"And then the vengeful deity looked down upon the hapless villagers, the giant orange cat-shaped being of death held above them in her arms...."

Christmas Carols and Lazer-Blindness

Thu Dec 24, 2009, 1:57 PM
Merry Xmas, Happy Hols and all the trappings.

My city hasn't had a white Christmas so far as a freezing rain-drenched Christmas, which is interesting in that it provides all the misery of cold weather and none of the compensation. I distinctly remember my childhood being shinier than this.

Yesterday I went to see a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert a few cities over though, which is basically what you get when you take the classic Christmas songs that have been done to death five times over and ressurect them as Rock-n-roll zombies.

With lazers.

And fire.

AND LAZERS.

Which completely made up for the lack of shiny-tastic weather. They confiscate any type of recording equipment at the shows, but a few bootleg videos ought to be floating around YouTube if anyone wants to see the type of light show I'm talking about.

The music isn't bad either, but after a while most of the songs start to soung the same.

Other than the concert, Xmas is looking to be the average family get-together affair at Grandma's house, then two or three gifts, then going back to the daily grind.

However, I do have my birthday coming up, and with most of my gift ideas already spent, can anyone reccommend any cool videogames?
I have all sorts of Gameboys and a PS2, so I'm kinda limited in that aspect.
Book suggestions would be cool too, I tend to read anything that's put in front of me so long as there's a decent amount of conflict.

I is baaaaack now ~ ><

And I am not doing that again. It was boring as hell.

And it managed to get TVTropes cemented in my head. How would you like to spend a month or two thinking in troper-ese?

Which classes were you taking again?

TVTropes is evil because once you click a link to it, you end up clicking links to other pages, then /other/ pages, and before you know it you can't remember why you were there in the first place and you've wasted half a day.

It will enhance your vocabulary, however.

-whistles-
That is a lot of Honors you have.

I have Computer Programming (a block class, which takes up the hour I was going to take art as well),
Environmental Science,
Study Hall (Personal Finance class next semester)
Honors Integrated Math 4 (also known as Pre-Calculus)
Honors US History
and Regular English.

The regular English is because I royally fail at formal, structured writing.

I took one look at that site and ran. XD I've run into waaay too many time-waster websites for my own good. Though, a vocabulary boost is always a nice brownie point...NAH NOT RISKING IT.

Oh yes, they make life a BLAST. In CAPS.

Hmm, does your school offer Creative Writing? Not many do, but it'd fix that "royally fail" problem. o:
